 From The Editor

Wow! Summer's gone already! I hope you've all had a good season, and taken some time to rest, catch your breath, and refresh your creative talents. It's been a busy time for us, too. But... we've put together some great "reading" for you in this issue!

Grab your favorite reading chair — we've got another revealing interview, this time with a metal artisan. We;ve got a product review, a half dozen practical articles, a giant checklist that will surely help you, and simply... get ready for some beneficial insights and a ton of down to earth advice and tips that can DEFINITELY benefit your career and art or craft business!

So, here's what we have for you —

  • Our "Spotlight Q&A Interview" is with a Vancouver Island metal artisan, Shirra Wall. She's had an interesting creative journey and she shares some practical tips for all of us.

  • For our first Special Feature, we're bringing you a group of 4 short articles in our ongoing new series on, How to Sell Your Art. In this issue, glass artist and author, Steve Popkin, shares his thoughts on "deciding whether your art or craft is good enough to sell", and "choosing what sells best" and "how to get people to buy your work", as well as "finding the right market for your art or craft works". Some good reading!

  • Our second Special Feature is a Product Review — The ColdHeat FreeStyle Glue Gun. We don't typical do reviews but this product bears mentioning. We give it our 5 Star rating!

  • Our first Special Guest Article comes courtesy of Robert Genn. It's actually two articles "meant to motivate you". Check them out!

  • Our second Special Guest Article is written by woodcrafter, Kim Banks, out of Barrie, Ontario. She speaks to us about Consignment Selling. This is a must read, particularly for those just beginning their art or craft business.

  • And finally, our Dollars & Sense Tips is not just another article — You may have seen something like this before, but NEVER with this detail... Check out this CHECKLIST of CHECKLISTS! It's another "must read/must have" that will help any artisan or crafter get ready for shows and events. It's not only about "what to bring" but it's some great advice on "how to make the most of any art or craft show"!

As always, we enjoy sharing our passion and bringing the Art & Craft Community together, sharing fascinating life stories, beneficial information and unique insights, and especially great advice. North America is blessed with so many creative and talented people… It's our pleasure to offer the A&CNet Newsletter as a unique "platform" where we can get to know each other, help each other, and grow both as artists, artisans & crafters and as enthusiastic art and craft lovers.

We hope you enjoy this issue.

All the best to you!
